ENTmania just gathered that in Zimbabwe, a Bulawayo maid boiled the life out of the 3-month old baby of her employer last week Wednesday just because of a slight delay in the payment of her salary. She has been arrested for murder and remanded in custody till 23rd October pending the conclusion of investigations.
The maid’s name is Nokuthula Nyathi from Emakhanden, while the employer’s name is Karen Dube. Residents who know them said that the two never got on well, and there is more to the story which compelled the maid to commit such a gruesome act.
‘I do not think that money was the reason for all this. Dube did not trust her because she has caught the maid stealing her belongings on several occasions. The employer tried to fire her but the maid resisted. So I think that might be the major reason behind the cruel deed,’ the source said.
It is understood that the maid normally gets paid on the first day of every month but at the time of the murder, the woman’s salary was overdue by two days. On the day this thing happened, Nyathi asked Karen to give her her salary. Karen replied that she did not have the money and promised to get it by the end of the week and then left for work.
Nyathi, however, seemed not to be happy about it. She is alleged to have put the baby inside a container and set it on a lit stove, boiling the infant to death.
The maid then took her belongings and left. On her return in the evening, Karen found her baby still in the container and was so shocked that she fell unconscious. The woman was discovered by a neighbor lying on the floor and rushed to the hospital, while the baby was taken to the morgue.
