James Holmes, the guy behind the Aurora theater shootings, has attempted taking his own life and failed, so says law enforcement sources. He was taken to the hospital on Tuesday, but some news sources say he has since been released.
On Wednesday his lawyers pleaded for a delay in the hearing scheduled for today (Thursday) following the recent development. They did not indicate, however, whether he has been released from the hospital or not.
James Holmes was the dude who opened fire on a local Aurora theater during the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises back in July 10, killing up to 12 people and wounding 58 others. This massacre is reported as one of the bloodiest acts of gun violence in U.S recent history.
According to reports, he used his head as a battering ram on the cell wall but sustained minor injuries. Then he tried falling backwards from his bed but failed again in his suicidal attempt. The resulting injuries he sustained was what sent him to the hospital.
The judge overseeing the case has approved the plea for delay in the case, adjourning it till December 10.
