The Aussie DJs have spoken out for the first time after the prank call … and to be honest, these guys do not deserve the whole barrage of condemnation flying around them. Watch this emotional video and decide for yourself … Mel Greig just couldn’t hold back the tears.
Meanwhile,the company that owns the station, Southern Cross Austereo, has cancelled their Hot 30 show along with the following actions:
- Suspension of all advertising on 2DAY FM till further notice;
- Company-wide suspension of prank calls;
- Detailed review of all company policies and processes.
The company has also agreed to cooperate with police investigation, though they do not believe that the DJs broke any law.
Again, King Edward VII hospital has denied that they received any call from the radio station before the prank call was ever made, as the radio station earlier claimed that they made up to five calls to the hospital to inform them about the call before it went on air.
‘Following the hoax call they did not speak to senior management or the company that deals with our media enquiries,’ the hospital spokesman said.
