A Panamanian woman was apprehended in a Spanish airport this week for smuggling almost 2 kilos of cocaine implanted under her breasts. The woman was on board a Colombian Avalanche Airline heading to Spain and was stopped by police at El Prat Airport in Barcelona, who noticed that she was ‘acting funny’.
CNN reports that the 28-year old woman was travelling from Bogota, known for drug trafficking, when a female police officer noticed bandage soaked with blood covering her chest. She tried to give reasons for the bandages, but the police got suspicious and bundled her off to a nearby hospital.
There medical personnel surgically took out the implants from each breast (pictured above) containing cocaine worth over £250,000.
Police told Vozpópuli News that her arrest was what saved her life, because she may not have survived much longer with those cocaine implants. ‘She was in a very bad state when she arrived. She said she was not in any pain but the wounds looked very bad,’ he said.
She has since been sent to jail
