An Argentinian woman, Edith Casas is set to marry the man convicted of killing her twin sister. Her fiance, Victor Cingolani is serving a 13-year sentence for murdering his then girlfriend Johana Casas back in 2010.
According to reports, Edith is saying she does not believe that Victor killed her sister, that he is the kind that ‘would not hurt a fly’. But her mother, Marcelina Orellana, has vowed to fight tooth and nail to stop the wedding from happening.
‘We know this will be hard because she is an adult, but we will go to court to try to have her examined by a psychiatrist,’ she said.
‘As far as we are concerned, she does not know what she is doing.’
However, 22-year old Edith lashed back at her mum, accusing her of abandoning her and her sister, adding, ‘She cannot say I need a psychiatrist because I am fully aware of what I am doing.’
Victor has also maintained his innocence. ‘I loved Johana, but I love Edith. I have a beautiful bride and I am going to marry her,’ he said.
Meanwhile, the odd couple have been permitted to have a court wedding, with the service to take place in prison at Pico Truncado, Santa Cruz.
Love crosses boundaries.
