Whitney Houston’s elder brother Michael confessed that he was the one who got her into doing drugs – the habit which caused her death last year at age 48. Michael Houston appeared in a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey along with his mother Cissy to promote her new memoir, Remembering Whitney, where he made the shocking revelation.
‘I’m not living … I’m not alive without her,’ he said. ‘I feel responsible for Whitney Houston’s death. I always have, I should have taken better care of her.’
He also said her addiction started way back in the 80s – even before her husband Bobby Brown came along.
‘Yeah, we did everything together. Once I did that, she followed suit,’ he replied when he was asked about her earliest experiences with crack. ‘At the time, in the 80s, it was acceptable. In the entertainment industry, it wasn’t a bad word like we have now. It just happened … I can’t say exactly when. We were traveling, late 20s, that money, just got caught up … it’s been a battle ever since. ‘It’s something I’ll live with for the rest of my life.’
Bobby has been vindicated.
