The Richmond police chief who actively vouched for Chris Brown during his community service has resigned.
Police chief Bryan Norwood was the one who wrote the letter attesting that Chris Brown has completed his community service. He also was instrumental to the transfer of Chris Brown’s case from the Police Probation Department to his office, an action the DA is saying was not authorized.
There had also been speculations that he resigned to take up the chief position in Raleigh, but it is now known that it was due to the Chris Brown community service scandal as he was not chosen for the job.
The Mayor of Richmond, Dwight Jones, said in a statement that they ‘reached a mutual agreement that his time as Richmond’s Police Chief has come to an end.’ He announced his replacement as Assistant Police Chief Ray J. Tatrasovic.
