Lindsay Lohan’s lawsuit against rapper Pitbull for using her name in his song has been dismissed.
Lindsay sued Pitbull in 2011 for singing the following line in his song Give Me Everything: ‘I got it locked up by Lindsay Lohan.’ She claimed that he didn’t ask for her permission to use her name like that, alleging that Pitbull caused her ‘tremendous emotional distress’ with words that were allegedly ‘destined to do irreparable harm’ to her image as ‘a professional actor of good repute.’
However, the judge sided with Pitbull, ruling that his song is a work of art protected by the First Amendment, and she was barely mentioned on it. He also quashed the ’emotional distress’ claim, saying it lacked merit. He therefore, dismissed the case.
