Animal rights group PETA has slammed Kim Kardashian again, saying that she is just a ‘commodity’ and a bad example to her unborn child. This verbal thrashing is PETA’s response to Kim wearing a fur stole over her baby bump in Paris yesterday with Kanye West.
‘Kim is a commodity; she is paid to wear things like fur, a particular makeup, or to shake hands with dictators, so she is not a good example to a child or anyone else of how to show a social conscience,’ fumed the group’s spokesperson Wendy Wegner. ‘Thankfully, this child will be growing up in a time when most people know how blatantly cruel it is to buy a coat made from someone else’s skin, so there is hope.’
She continued, ‘Children of greedy, self-absorbed parents could follow their lead or they could break away and be alienated from and disgusted by them.’
So if Kim Kardashian is not a good example for her own kid, then who is? PETA thinks her sister Khloe is a perfect role model.
‘Youngsters naturally identify and empathize with animals – so even though Kim and Kanye will undoubtedly serve as poor examples when it comes to kindness toward animals, perhaps their child will take after aunt Khloe and choose kindness by rejecting fur,’ Wenger said.
Ironically, PETA is still supporting Khloe Kardashian after the latter cut ties with the group for flour-bombing her sister during a red carpet event last year. She had posed nude for their ‘I’d Rather Go Naked’ anti-fur campaign.
Problem for PETA is that Kim never appears to listen to bad criticism. She most probably will never respond to this one.
