JLo’s expensive demands have cost her a chance to perform in front of 60 million people at the biggest cricket event in India.
Jennifer Lopez was negotiating with officials at the Indian Premier League to perform at the opening ceremony, but then her manager started demanding that a private plane be made available for her, along with numerous hotel rooms to house her huge entourage, which included an army of stylists, assistants and a personal chef. This made the Pepsi IPL officials to turn their backs on the singer, recruiting Pitbull to perform in her place.
‘The demands made on behalf of Jennifer were outrageous,’ a source told New York Post. ‘She effectively priced herself out of the event. It was an idiotic move because the audience for this event is huge. It’s like the Super Bowl halftime show. Last year it drew 56 million viewers.’
Jennifer Lopez is famous for making expensive demands: In 2001 she arrived for a BBC interview with a 90-person entourage and ordered nine dressing rooms for the group. Also in 2010, her team submitted a backstage rider that included items such as a 45-foot trailer, white drapes, Diptyque candles, white couches, white lilies, yellow roses with a red trim, white tablecloths, and apple pie before she filmed a video for the benefit of AIDS victims in Africa.
However, her camp is saying that she is too busy to accept the offer. ‘An offer was made to perform; the date conflicted with Jennifer’s current music-recording schedule for an album due this summer,’ a rep said.
