‘Buckwild’ star Shane Gandee has been found dead this morning in his car after being reported missing for 31 hours. He was just 21.
The MTV star was found dead along with his 48-year old uncle David Gandee and another unidentified body inside his red and white 1984 Ford Bonco car in Sissonville, West Virginia this morning. Officials say there is no sign of foul play.
MTV has released a statement which reads:
‘We are shocked and saddened by the terrible news about Shain Gandee, and those involved in this tragic incident. We are waiting for more information but at this time, our main concern is for the Gandee family and their friends.
‘Our thoughts and prayers are with them. Shain had a magnetic personality, with a passion for life that touched everyone he met and we will miss him dearly.’
Cops said that Shain and his uncle were last seen leaving a Sissonville bar to go four-wheeling on Sunday morning. They reportedly told friends around 3 am that they were going four-wheeling, but did not disclose where they were heading to.
Cops found the bodies of Shain, his uncle and another unidentified person still inside his truck (see pics below), which was submerged deep in the mud, so deep that even the exhaust pipe was also submerged. This has led to the speculation that carbon monoxide poisoning was the cause of death, as there was no way the deadly gas could escape from the car since the exhaust pipe was blocked. The hypothesis is yet to be confirmed, as the bodies have been taken to the mortuary for autopsy.
