Rick Ross has apologized to everybody offended by the lyrics of his new song boasting about drugging a woman and raping her.
Ross, who has been under fire from women rights group UltraViolet (who set up an online petition asking Reebok to drop the rapper) and many others who listened to the song, sent out the apology on Twitter:
— Mastermind (@rickyrozay) April 4, 2013
Translation: UltraViolet wants Rick Ross to ADMIT that he made a mistake by belting out the controversial lyrics, and they feel that his apology is not good enough. To prove us correct, the group still went ahead to protest in front of Reebok office despite the apology.
The offending lyrics in question:
‘Put molly all in her champagne / She ain’t even know it / I took her home and I enjoyed that / She ain’t even know it.’
The online petition asking Reebok to drop the rapper as its spokesman has gathered 70,000 signatures as at April 4.
