Justin Bieber is the king of Twitter … except that it is no longer recognized officially.
This is coming from a research by social media statistics company, SocialBakers, who estimated that of Justin’s over 37 million followers, nearly 16.7 million of them are fake accounts, while another 2.6 million are inactive. Because of this finding, the site rated him 3/10.
Lady Gaga, who trails Justin Bieber, also has over 15 million fake accounts following her, meaning that if you do the arithmetic, Justin’s real followers stands at 17.8 million, while Gaga’s stands at 19 million (so Gaga is the Queen of Twitter).
The report classified followers as either ‘good’, ‘fake’ or ‘inactive’ by picking out those accounts that had fewer than a certain number of followers and who themselves followed a low number of users.
On the winning side is Taylor Swift, who gains an estimated 85 thousand followers a day, followed by Constantine ‘Costa’ Roussos with 84,000, Betting Sports with 82,000 and ET host Nancy O’Dell with 79,000.
