Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon has pleaded no contest to charges against her for mouthing off to cops during her hubby’s arrest for DUI.
The actress famously pulled out a celebrity card during her arrest, saying things like, ‘Do you know my name?’ and telling the cop that he going to be on national news.
Courtesy of TMZ, we’ve gotten the crazy arrest video which has the following dialogue:
Reese: ‘Do you know my name sir?’
Officer: ‘Don’t need to know.’
Reese: ‘You don’t NEED to know my name?’
Officer: ‘Not quite yet.’
Reese: ‘YOU’RE ABOUT TO FIND OUT WHO I AM!’
Reese: ‘I have done nothing against the law.’
Officer: ‘Yes you did, you didn’t obey my orders.’
Reese: ‘I HAVE TO OBEY YOUR ORDERS??’
Reese: ‘I’m now being arrested and handcuffed??’
Reese: ‘I’m an American citizen … I’m allowed to stand on American ground.’
Reese: ‘You better not arrest me.’
Reese: ‘I’m being anti-American?’
Officer: “Yes, please sit down.”
Reese: ‘You’re harassing me as an American citizen’
Aside from all these, Reese admitted that she had told the cop that she was pregnant and needed to pee. Even her husband kinda denounced her, saying ‘I’m sorry, I had nothing to do with that!’
Reese has since apologized, saying on Good Morning America yesterday that she was saying all those ‘crazy things because she was hammered with booze and alarmed that her husband was being arrested.
Reese was told to pay $215 fine, while her husband – who pled guilty to DUI – was sentenced to 40 hours community service and 12 months probation. He was also ordered to attend an alcohol education programme.
