Actress Jean Stapleton – who played the iconic role of Edith Bunker in All in the Family has died at the ripe age of 90.
The legendary actress died on Friday in New York City of natural causes, according to her family.
Jean Stapleton won three Emmys for her role in All in the Family opposite Caroll O’ Connor’s equally iconic role of Archie Bunker. Her last major movie flick was 1998’s You’ve Got Mail, where she played the role of Meg Ryan.
She is survived by her two children, John and Pamela. Her husband of 26 years, William Putch, passed away in 1983.
