Simon Cowell was pelted with eggs by a woman during the live broadcast of Britain’s Got Talent final.
The incident happened during the time brothers Adam and Richard Johnson were finishing their opera song. The woman, identified as 30-year old violinist Natalie Holt, ran up the stage and with a smile on her face, began throwing eggs at Cowell and fellow judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams.
Holt was later hauled off the stage by security men and Cowell had to continue the show without his egg-soiled jacket. The singing brothers continued their performance as if nothing happened.
Natalie Holt is a member of a musical band called Raven Quartet, who participated in the show last year and didn’t have such a pleasant experience. She was also part of the musical group playing for Adam and Richard’s performance.
She has already apologized for her behavior. ‘I want to apologise to Richard and Adam for overshadowing their performance. I’ve never done anything like this before and in hindsight I have realised it was a silly thing to do,’ she said in a statement.
But what was Simon thinking when Holt was egg-bombing him? ‘I thought it was part of the act, I thought they were throwing sandwiches,’ he said.
