Ellen Pearson – the widow of the Kardashian sisters’ father Robert Kardashian – has hit back POWERFULLY at the Kardashians over the ongoing copyright infringement lawsuit they filed against her.
In April, the Kardashians sued Pearson for ‘leaking’ sensational diary entries of the late lawyer and personal photos to the media, who used it to print out salacious cover stories in magazines. The diary entries ‘exposed Kris Jenner as a manipulative and devious mother and ex-wife who simply used and exploited her children,’ according to the lawsuit.
The Kardashians didn’t stop there: They went ahead to blast the allegations and Ellen on Twitter when the cover stories emerged, before accusing their stepmom of carrying out a ‘despicable and unlawful scheme to hold in secret and convert, and now exploit … private personal and copyright protected’ material, asking for ‘at least’ $500,000 in damages.
But Ellen on Thursday asked for permission to file a counter-suit, claiming that the Kardashian family slapped her with the lawsuit as part of another stunt in their ‘fake’ reality show.
In the court documents, Ellen alleged, ‘Episode 2 from Season 8 of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, entitled Enough is Enough (“Episode”) first aired on or about June 8, 2013 … the filing of this entire lawsuit by the Kardashians was nothing more than part of a carefully orchestrated aspect of the Episode. The entire saga culminating in the filing of the complaint in this action was orchestrated off-screen by the Kardashians and then scripted for the Episode.’
For those that do not know, Episode 8 featured Kris breaking down over the tabloid reports based on the diary entries Ellen gave to them … then at one point in the episode, her kids convinced her to seek legal help and hence, the lawsuit.
But according to Ellen’s legal team, the Kardashians ‘crafted’ that episode as a form of ‘damage control’ when ‘vivid details were released to the public which ran contrary to the image Kris Jenner has attempted to portray on Keeping Up With The Kardashians as a loving and caring mother who constantly sacrifices for her children.’
Ellen went on to claim that ‘the Kardashians developed and deployed a “spin” designed to neutralize the exceptionally negative opinion that Robert had of Kris Jenner.
‘The Kardashians’ strategy was to neutralize the unrefuted details in Robert’s diaries and notes by suggesting that they were in fact fabricated by Ellen. The Kardashians’s strategy was to create a fake scenario where ’Robert’s story and words’ would become the narrative of his surviving widow which the Kardashians would then claim was motivated, not by truth but, greed.
‘This shameful rewriting of history by the Kardashians Siblings, at the direction and behest of Kris Jenner, was motivated by profit and is an insult to the legacy of their own father.’
Ellen also blasted the Kardashian family for not having ‘meaningful careers or professions’ but instead ‘subsist on exposing their perverse private affairs to the world, including ‘unorthodox sexual acts, extramarital affairs, sex tapes and out-of-wedlock child birth.’
And there’s more … check out Radar for more details.
If her counter-suit appeal is granted, Ellen will sue the family for ‘defamation, public disclosure of private facts, intentional infliction of emotional distress, civil harassment and civil conspiracy to defame.’ She is seeking for unspecified damages and a trial.
Ellen Pearson is not the first person who has called Keeping Up With the Kardashians a fake reality show: Kim Kardashian’s husband of 72 days Kris Humphries accused the family of scripting and ‘reshooting’ certain scenes to make him the villain during the bitter divorce war that lasted for more than a year. He finally granted Kim the divorce this year after feeling ‘sorry’ for her, ‘cos she was pregnant.
Ellen married Robert Kardashian in 2003, two months before his death from esophageal cancer.
The court hearing has been scheduled to hold in August.
