Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has given birth to a baby boy.
The baby’s birth happened at exactly 4:24 pm London time, and he weighed in at 8 pounds, 6 ounces.
Kate Middleton’s child is the first grandchild of Prince Charles and is now the third in line to the British throne.
According to reports, Kate was in labor for 11 hours, and her husband Prince William was beside her the whole time.
And as for new grandfather Prince Charles, ‘Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild. It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy.’
He continued, ‘Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone’s life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future.’
And as for Prince William, he simply said, ‘We could not be happier.’
