A 43-year old Detroit man has been arrested on Saturday over the burglary attempt at musician Kid Rock’s home.
The arrest was made after police received several tips from the public, and the man was picked up at his home in Independence Township in Oakland County, north of Detroit.
Security camera footage of the burglary attempt shows a van ramming through the gate of the musician’s home. Then a man emerges from the car in crutches and tries unsuccessfully to break into the house and carry away stuff. The van, a 1994 Ford Club Wagon, was impounded after the arrest.
Kid Rock had earlier gone to his website and offered $5,000 in reward to anyone who has info that will lead to the burglar’s arrest. He also warned, ‘Thank God I was not on the property at the time of this attempted break in. I am an avid hunter and marksman and I will not hesitate to shoot anyone who has myself or family in fear for our lives,’ adding, ‘I take the invasion of my personal space very seriously regardless of who you are.’
