Ex-Church of Scientology veteran Leah Remini has filed a missing persons report for Shelly Miscavige, wife of the controversial church’s leader David Miscavige.
According law enforcement sources in Los Angeles, an investigation has been launched on the whereabouts of Shelly, who has not been seen in public for many years. They did not state that it was Remini who filed the report, but many sources have confirmed that it was actually the actress that personally filed it.
According to multiple reports, Shelley’s whereabouts played the major role in the King of Queens actress’ decision to sever her 3 decades-long ties with the church last month, explaining that ‘no one is going to tell me how I need to think, no one is going to tell me who I can, and cannot, talk to.’
The Church of Scientology has previously stated last year through their attorneys that ‘any reports that [Shelly] is missing are false’, but after the news broke that a missing persons report has been filed, one of their reps released a statement to TMZ, saying, ‘This is just harassment. It is a publicity stunt cooked up by a small band of unemployed fanatics who live on the fringe of the Internet.
‘The Church and the attorney for Mrs. Miscavige have already responded to this ludicrous claim – as you noted yourself in your story.’
