Usher has thanked the two guys who saved his son’s life after his hand got stuck in the drain of his Atlanta home pool, calling them ‘true heroes’.
As we reported, Usher’s 5-year old son almost drowned on Monday after his hand got stuck in the pool drain as he attempted to retrieve a toy. He was hospitalized under intensive care immediately after, but is now recovering well.
In a statement released on Wednesday night, the singer broke his silence on the incident:
‘I am blessed and fortunate to say that my son Usher V is doing well and is recovering. I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers, love and support for my family’s well-being. I would like to thank my Aunt Rena as well as the doctors and nurses who are working with us around the clock. I would especially like to thank the two men who saved my son’s life, Eugene Stachurski and Ben Crews. They are true heroes and I am deeply grateful to them.’
Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Raymond is currently seeking primary custody of the children following the incident, and an emergency hearing has been scheduled for Friday.
