Amanda Bynes will remain in involuntary psychiatric treatment for an extra 30 days, it has been determined Friday.
An emergency hearing was supposed to be held in court today over her parents’ bid to obtain temporary conservatorship, but the 27-year old actress was determined by doctors to be too ill to be transported from the hospital. So they went to the judge, asking him to move the emergency hearing to the hospital.
The judge obliged and traveled to the hospital, where he granted the doctors’ request to extend Amanda’s stay to 30 days.
This order is only granted if the patient is deemed to be ‘gravely disabled as a result of a mental disorder.’
Meanwhile, her parents are still continuing to seek temporary conservatorship over their ailing daughter, so that they could control her affairs and finances.
