Actor Ben Affleck will play Batman in the upcoming sequel of superman movie Man of Steel.
The announcement was made by Warner Bros. on Thursday in a statement by director Zack Snyder, which reads, ‘Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry’s Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can’t wait to work with him.’
Ben Affleck played the blind superhero Daredevil in 2003 alongside his future wife Jennifer Garner, so, it’s not the first time he is starring in such flicks. What is new, however, is that it is the first time in history that Batman and Superman will team up in a movie.
The sequel begins production next year and will be released on July 17, 2014.
