A 4-year-old British boy caught up in the insane Kenya Mall shooting in Nairobi was so brave that he approached one of the gunmen, told him to his face, ‘You’re a bad man!’ and walked away with the gunman pleading for forgiveness.
According to his uncle, Elliot Prior was with his mother Amber and 6-year old sister Amelie at the Westgate Shopping mall in the nation’s capital when the Al Shabab gunmen stormed in and opened fire.
After apparently seeing his mother shot in the thigh, the young Elliot was reported to have approached the gunman and shouted, ‘You’re a bad man, let us leave.’
Oddly enough, the terrorist took pity on the boy, and at that point one of the gunmen asked if there were any other children left in the mall.
‘They had a lucky escape … the terrorists said that if any kids were alive in the supermarket they could leave. Amber made a decision to stand up and say yes,’ Elliot’s uncle Alex Coutts said.
Seizing the opportunity, Amber left with her two kids and two other children – including one 12-year old who saw her mother murdered – and as they left, the gunman gave Eliott and his sister a Mars bar each and begged for forgiveness, urging Amber to convert to Islam and that they were only after killing Kenyans and Americans.
‘Please forgive me, we are not monsters,’ the gunman reportedly said.
According to Amber, ‘He told me I had to change my religion to Islam and said “do you forgive us? Do you forgive us?” Naturally, I was going to say whatever they wanted and they let us go.’
The first picture above of Elliot and his sister standing beside a dead body with Mars Bars in their hands has gone viral.
