Amanda Bynes was moved from UCLA Medical center to a fancy rehab center in Malibu because that was one of the things she needed to speed up her recovery, so her parents say.
The former Nickelodeon actress moved from the hospital to Canyon rehab facility three weeks ago. The reasons for the move was not clear at that time.
But Amanda’s parents Rick and Lynn Bynes cleared the air through their lawyer Tamar Arminak on Monday, saying that the move became necessary because she became too scared of the environment around her.
‘Amanda was stuck with people in much worse condition than her. She was scared, afraid and did not leave her immediate room area,’ Arminak told TMZ, adding, ‘She is getting specialized psych care, one on one treatment, not drug rehab.’
Arminak also added that the move was advised by doctors at UCLA.
Amanda is currently under psychiatric treatment for a disorder similar to schizophrenia.
