Reverend Jesse Jackson says Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson’s anti-gay comments is worse than what Rosa Park’s bus driver said while trying to force her to sit at the back of the bus way back in the racist 1955.
The civil rights activist went on full attack mode on the Duck Dynasty patriarch, saying in a statement, ‘These statements uttered by Robertson are more offensive than the bus driver in Montgomery, Alabama, more than 59 years ago.’
‘At least the bus driver, who ordered Rosa Parks to surrender her seat to a white person, was following state law,’ Jesse continued. ‘Robertson’s statements were uttered freely and openly without cover of the law, within a context of what he seemed to believe was “white privilege.”‘
Jesse even wants to meet with cable network A&E and Cracker Barrel executives over the matter, setting a Friday deadline. He is also urging A&E to uphold Phil’s suspension.
As we reported, Phil has made it clear that he will not back down from his comments that homosexuality is a sin.
