A South Carolina woman was arrested on Wednesday for stabbing her husband in the chest with a broken ceramic squirrel, all because the man did not bring home some bottles of beer on Christmas Eve.
According to the police report, 44-year old Helen Ann Williams was incensed that her 41-year old husband came home on Christmas Eve without any beer. He had been unable to do so because shops were closed that Tuesday night.
After returning home and informing her of his failure to get the beer, Helen’s husband began making himself a sandwich … and that was when she hit him on the head with a ceramic squirrel and stabbed him in the chest.
Police responded to a 911 call dispatched by the victim, where they found him with scratches on his face and a ‘large amount of blood smeared across his upper body and down his arms.’ Also police found a large gash on his chest on removing his shirt.
Williams told cops that her husband must have fallen on the ceramic squirrel and injured himself … an explanation the latter found hard to believe given that her hands and clothes were also bloody and she could not explain why. She was subsequently arrested and charged with domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.
She is currently being held in a Charleston County Jail on a $10,000 bail. Her husband has been treated for non-life threatening injuries.
