A man stabbed his brother multiple times and hit him in the head after an argument over who should drink the last can of Pepsi during an NFC Championship game on Sunday.
Police say Michael Charles of Jersey City fled after stabbing and beating his 50-year-old brother, leaving behind a crime scene ‘covered in blood.’
According to the victim, prior to the incident, they had been drinking for several hours and were upset that the team they were supporting – San Francisco 49ers – were losing. So when he asked his brother for the last can of Pepsi, he reported told him to ‘go f**k yourself’ before picking up a pipe and striking him in the head.
The Jersey Journal reports that Michael stabbed his brother several times in the chest with a small knife. The victim fought back by grabbing a knife and stabbing his attacker in the arm.
Shockingly, their elderly mother was there with them during the fight.
According to police, the victim refused a restraining order against his brother. He was treated by paramedics at the scene and sent to the Jersey City Medical Center.
