Oscar Pistorius was an emotional mess in court on Monday – crying and vomiting several times – as a pathologist described in graphic details the gruesome wounds sustained by his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp – who he accidentally shot to death on Valentine’s Day last year.
The pathologist, Prof Gert Saayman told the court that Steenkamp was shot in the head, right elbow, right hip and left hand … and the ammunition used – Black Tallon bullets – are the kind that ‘expand and mushroom’ for maximum damage.
Saayman said the head shot was the main culprit that ended Steenkamp’s life.
Pistorius was given a bucket as he puked and cried, covering his ears with his hands. At a point, the judge asked his lawyer if his client can comport himself and stay or not. But the Olympian insisted on staying … and was allowed to continue.
Pistorius is facing a murder charge.
