Fred Phelps – the founder of the controversial Westboro Baptist Church – has died, and some celebrities are celebrating his death as good riddance to bad rubbish.
Celebrity website TMZ posted Kool & the Gang’s song Celebrate in obvious delight, while some other celebrities took to Twitter to express their relief that the anti-gay preacher has finally died.
‘Good riddance, fred,’ tweeted Christine Teigen. ‘Maybe Fred Phelps’ life dedicated to evil & intolerance will teach others to be civil & kind. If there is a hell, then he is there,’ tweeted Andy Cohen.
‘Bye Fred Phelps. I hope you like retirement communities in warm climates,’ mocked Paula Bell.
Now while it is true that Phelps and his church followers spread hate messages while speaking against gay lifestyle, it is still WRONG for anybody to celebrate the death of a fellow human being like this, no matter how bad he is.
Everybody has flaws.
