Kim Kardashian has finally scored a Vogue magazine cover … and readers of the acclaimed fashion tabloid are extremely pissed with the editor Anna Wintour because of it.
Kim and Kanye are on the ‘fashion bible’s April issue, with the mag celebrating ‘their fashionable lives and surreal times’ and hailing them as ‘World’s Most Talked About Couple.’
It is no longer news that Kim has been salivating over the opportunity to grace the cover of the mag for years … but has been denied by Wintour, who reportedly says she would never allow a reality star – especially the Kardashians – on the cover.
But ever since Kim started dating Kanye West – who is on good terms with Wintour – the rapper has been constantly bugging the editor to put his baby mama on the cover … and it seems Wintour finally caved in.
‘This is such a dream come true!!! Thank you
@VogueMagazine for this cover! O M GGGGGG!!! I can’t even breath!’ Kim shrieked on Twitter Friday.
Well the cover has drawn widespread backlash online, with readers saying they will cancel their subscriptions and encouraging others to do the same.
Others blasted Wintour for lowering the magazine’s elite status to the level of those who became famous by ‘doing a porno sex tape.’
Actress Sarah Michelle Gellar is one of those pissed readers.
Well……I guess I'm canceling my Vogue subscription. Who is with me???

Anna Wintour explained in the editor’s letter the reason why she chose to put Kim on the cover:
Part of the pleasure of editing Vogue, one that lies in a long tradition of this magazine, is being able to feature those who define the culture at any given moment, who stir things up, whose presence in the world shapes the way it looks and influences the way we see it. I think we can all agree on the fact that that role is currently being played by Kim and Kanye to a T. (Or perhaps that should be to a K?)
As for the cover, my opinion is that it is both charming and touching, and it was, I should add, entirely our idea to do it; you may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancée on Vogue’s cover. He did nothing of the sort. The gossip might make better reading, but the simple fact of the matter is that it isn’t true.
There’s barely a strand of the modern media that the Kardashian Wests haven’t been able to master, and for good reason: Kanye is an amazing performer and cultural provocateur, while Kim, through her strength of character, has created a place for herself in the glare of the world’s spotlight, and it takes real guts to do that.
This explanation has even caused more criticism for the famed fashion editor.
