Joan Rivers does not like the message Lena Dunham is allegedly spreading on her HBO show Girls, slamming the actress for portraying that being as ‘fat’ as she is healthy.
The Fashion Police host was on The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday when she took a shot at Dunham’s dress sense.
‘How could she wear dresses above the knee?’ Joan wondered.
At this point, Stern stepped in to say that all Lena wants is for people to accept their bodies as they are, but Rivers disagreed.
‘But that’s wrong! You’re sending a message out to people saying, “It’s OK! Stay fat! Get diabetes. Everybody die. Lose your fingers,”‘ the plastic surgery enthusiast countered, before accusing Dunham of ‘hypocrisy’, citing her recent Vogue cover Photoshop work.
‘There she was looking gorgeous. You didn’t know it was her,’ Rivers said.
In any case, Joan says she likes Dunham despite her body campaign, but adds that she won’t recommend the actress’ body type for anyone.
‘I love that she’s funny, I love that she did well… but don’t let them laugh at you physically,’ she said. ‘If you look the way you look, Lena, and that’s fine and you’re funny, don’t say it’s okay that other girls can look like this. Try to look better.’
Now this is going to cause some problems.
