Two Christian twin brothers David and Jason Benham are now saying that they are being treated unfairly because their beliefs about homosexuality, after their HGTV suddenly got cancelled without warning.
The brothers were informed on Wednesday that their remodelling show Flip It Forward has been cancelled … and the network gave no reason for the decision.
Incidentally, the cancellation came after a website published a story on Tuesday of how the twins – whose father is a well-known anti-abortion crusader – conducted prayer rallies against the sin of homosexuality.
The Benham brothers believe that the axing of their show was based on that website’s story … and they have reiterated that despite their beliefs, they will never discriminate against gays.
‘Anyone who suggests that we hate homosexuals or people of other faiths is either misinformed or lying,’ they said in a statement. ‘With all of the grotesque things that can be seen and heard on television today you would think there would be room for two twin brothers who are faithful to our families, committed to biblical principles, and dedicated professionals.’
‘Over the last decade, we’ve sold thousands of homes with the guiding principle of producing value and breathing life into each family that has crossed our path, and we do not, nor will we ever discriminate against people who do not share our views,’ they concluded.
The Benhams actually do not mind that their show was cancelled because of their faith. They say that if their Christian beliefs cost them a TV show, then ‘so be it.’ They are currently remodelling the homes of 6 families in Charlotte for the show … and they plan to finish it with or without any cameras to record them.
