Macaulay Culkin abruptly ended his show in Nottingham, England on Sunday night after he and his group Pizza Underground got booed and pelted with beer bottles by fans.
Before the beer hurling, the Home Alone star had cheerfully said, ‘Hello Cleveland. How are you kids doing? Do you like pizza? Do you like songs about pizza? Good, cus that’s literally all we do.’
He then proceeded to hand out 14-inch pizzas to the front row (pic above), urging them to ‘take a bite and pass it on.’
But as soon as the show started, fans for reasons best known to them, began pelting Culkin and his bandmates with beer cans, drenching them in the process.
‘Why are you throwing those?’ asked Culkin. ”I’d rather drink them!’
But the beer-throwing continued unabated, until one full beer can hit the star just as he was about to perform a kazoo solo 15 minutes later.
That was the last straw.
‘That’s the end of the show. Goodnight,’ he told the crowd, before grabbing his bandmates and walking out of the stage.
The show’s organizers released a statement condemning the actions of the fans, saying, ‘After barnstorming sets at both Dot To Dot Manchester and Dot To Dot Bristol, it’s such a shame that some members of the crowd had to ruin what was set to be an excellent show. A sentiment echoed by the band themselves.
‘Hopefully they’ll get to play in Nottingham again one day soon.’
Later on Pizza Underground took to Twitter to thank the fans despite their jeers and beer hurling.
”Thank you so much Nottingham and Dot to Dot. Sorry that a couple people ruined it for everyone,’ the group tweeted.
