Dethroned Miss Delaware Amanda Longacre will not go away quietly … as she has indicated she will fight to get her crown back.
As ENTmania! previously reported, Longacre was on Thursday last week stripped of her title after organizers said she, at 24, was too old to compete in the pageant in the first place. Her crown was then given to the first runner-up, who is also 24 years old.
During an appearance on Monday’s TODAY Show, Longacre disclosed that the organizers allowed her to keep the scholarship money she won as part of crown benefits. But that will not stop her from getting her crown back.
‘I won the title of Miss Delaware,’ she declared. ‘I am Miss Delaware. I was nothing but honest from the beginning.’
She also maintained that she provided all the necessary documents confirming her age to officials throughout the pageant process, and nobody ever told her that she violated any rule.
As it is now, Longacre is ready to sue if the need arise.
