Joy Behar has slammed Elisabeth Hasselbeck for her ‘below-the-belt’ remarks about Rosie O’Donnell returning to The View.
The comedienne spoke to CNN’s Don Lemon shortly after Hasselbeck called into Fox & Friends to say that the show’s producers rehired ‘the very woman who’s spit in the face of our military, [and] spit in the face of her own network.’
‘I would like Elisabeth to explain herself, really,’ Behar demanded. ‘What does she mean by that? And isn’t it kind of a nasty thing to say about somebody who is basically a good person?’
The former The View host then revealed that O’Donnell’s son attends Military College of South Carolina.
‘Her son is at The Citadel. What more does Elisabeth want?’ asked Behar.
But when Lemon pointed out that the women had ‘beef’ with each other, Behar shot back, ‘I know, but to say she spits in the face of the military? That’s a dangerous thing to say about somebody. It’s a hate-filled remark, and she should explain it.’
