Nickelodeon has cancelled Sam & Cat, it has been announced.
A spokesperson for the children’s network told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement on Sunday, ‘Nickelodeon will not be producing more episodes of Sam & Cat. ‘We are very proud of the show and its very talented cast and we wish them all the best.’
This announcement came months after the very popular kids’ show – the most popular on Nickelodeon – was placed on an indefinite hiatus after its star Jennette McCurdy complained on Twitter that Nickelodeon was treating her ‘unfairly’. Reports later claimed that McCurdy was being paid less than her co-star Ariana Grande, who has not worked for the network for as long as McCurdy.
However, Grande later denied that she makes more money than McCurdy in Nick, saying the ‘rumors’ are ‘absolutely ridiculous and false’.
