Adele’s 1-year old son Angelo James Konecki has won a lawsuit seeking a 5-figure sum in damages from a paparazzi company for photographing and selling his private moments to the world.
According to the suit, Corbis Images UK had snapped Angelo as he had his milestone moments with his mother without their permission and then put it up for sale for media outlets to buy.
The singer’s lawyer said after the ruling, ‘It is a matter of profound sadness that many of his milestone moments, such as his first family outing and his first trip to playgroup, were photographed and published worldwide expressly against his family’s wishes.’
In addition to the 5-figure sum, Corbis was ordered to take down Angelo’s pics from their website and to never sell them again.
Adele had earlier warned around the time her son was born that she would never allow him to become ‘public property’, her lawyer said.
The money will be placed in Angelo’s trust, to be used when he grows up.
