Kanye West said under oath that he is the ‘smartest celebrity you’ve ever f**king dealt with’ and the guy who makes ‘dope sh*t for the world’.
West made the remarks during a deposition in the case where he was accused of beating up a paparazzo named Daniel Ramos and smashing his camera back in July last year.
According to the transcript obtained by TMZ, West had said to the photog’s lawyer Nate Goldberg, ‘I’m the smartest celebrity you’ve ever f**king dealt with. I’m not Britney Spears,’ and ‘I’m in the business of trying to make dope sh*t for the world. You’re in the business of representing scums and trying to make as much money as long as there’s this lapse in the law.’
When Goldberg made a reference to Kanye’s anti-paparazzi song Flashing Lights by quoting a line that says ‘Till I get flashed by the paparazzi, damn, these ni**as got me,’ West, took offense.
‘You have to ask for a hall pass. You can’t just say the ‘n’ word around me,’ he snapped. ‘It offends me because you’re a white person saying “ni**a.”‘
The rapper also said that the celebrity struggle against the paparazzi is the same as the struggle of the blacks in the ’60s.
‘Yes, 100… I equate it to discrimination. I equate it to inequalities,’ he affirmed.
