On Tuesday, the British broadcaster said on his TalkSPORT radio show, ‘I believe he’s got a daughter. What’s she feeling this morning? Now she’s got to sort the arrangements out. I think it’s shocking, I really do.’
‘I don’t have a lot of sympathy, I’m sorry,’ he said matter-of-factly. ‘It might be [heartless], but that’s the way I feel. What you leave behind is diabolical, I’m really annoyed about that.’
As you will expect, Brazil has come under intense criticism, with many people calling for him to be fired for not understanding how grave depression is.
But Brazil – unlike Todd Bridges – is not apologizing.
‘I stand by what I said today. The sympathy I do have is for RW’s family & friends,’ he tweeted later in the day.
TalkSPORT, however, has apologized on behalf of Brazil, telling The Independent, ‘talkSPORT would like to apologise for any offence caused. Alan’s comments do not reflect the views of the station.’
