This month, three men bearing the surname Stoner were arrested for weed possession with intention to distribute.
The Missoulan reports that Rodney Ray Stoner and his son Adam Lee Stoner were arrested in Corvalis, Oregon earlier this month after cops, alerted by a relative, discovered a weed growing operation in their garage. Then this week in Orange, Virginia, another man by the name Paul Scott Stoner got nabbed after cops found $10,000 worth of weed plants in his possession, according to the Associated Press.
The Oregon Stoners now face multiple charges of drug manufacturing and possession, while the Virginia Stoner, whose arrest was part of the ongoing investigation into the alleged sale of weed to minors, faces charges of growing marijuana and firearms possession.
Whether or not the Oregon Stoners and the Virginia Stoner are related is unclear. But aside from the weed and their hilariously coincidental surname, two other things they have in common: They have appeared in court and have been released from jail – the Virginia Stoner on bail and the Oregon Stoners on their own recognizance.
Names really define a person.
