Miley Cyrus’ Bangerz concert has been banned in the Dominican Republic on morality grounds.
According to the statement released by the country’s commission that regulates public performances on Thursday, Cyrus’ concert was banned because her endless vulgarity on stage goes against the morals and customs of the country.
According to the commission, Miley Cyrus ‘undertakes acts that go against morals and customs, which are punishable by Dominican law.’
Neither Cyrus’ rep nor concert organizers in the Dominican Republic commented on the ban.
Cyrus was expected to perform in the country’s capital on September 13 and since she has been banned, the concert tickets – which has been selling since July from $27 to $370 – will now have to be refunded.
