Kim Kardashian and sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner chose the time of the solemn VMAs Ferguson tribute to text/browse with their phones … and it did not go unnoticed.
For those that do not know what Ferguson is all about, an 18-year old boy named Michael Brown was shot in a town called Ferguson located in the state of Missouri on August 9. Brown was walking home unarmed at that time.
His death apparently awakened the sad memories of the Trayvon Martin shooting several years ago ‘cos Ferguson erupted into violent protests, which was worsened by the militarization of the police force there. The protests lasted for several days.
So, as the rest of the crowd observed a one-minute silence for Michael Brown, the cameras caught Kim and her sisters browsing or texting with their phones and looking indifferent to what was going on around them.
And, of course, their nonchalant behavior did not go unnoticed. But rather than blast the Kardashians, many people said they were not even surprised. In fact, many poked fun at them, joking that they were Googling ‘who is Ferguson?’
