Miley Cyrus is incensed at the media after it was revealed that her homeless VMAs date Jesse Helt is wanted by police in his home state Oregon.
As you will remember, Cyrus brought Helt on stage to accept her Video of the Year award on her behalf at the VMAs and then used the opportunity to reveal her charity work for the homeless people.
But according to law enforcement sources, Helt was arrested in 2010 and charged with misdemeanor criminal tresspass and criminal mischief after he and a friend tried to break into a drug dealer’s house because the dealer sold them bad weed. He spent 3 weeks in prison after pleading guilty to the charges and was then placed on probation.
However, Helt violated his probation twice in 2011, causing it to be revoked. Police had been searching for him ever since … until he showed up at the VMAs on Sunday night with Cyrus.
Reacting to the revelation, Cyrus took to Twitter on Tuesday to blast the media for opening a can of worms instead of looking at her charity work.
‘The media never fails to disappoint. You’ve chosen to go after Jesse instead of covering the issue of youth homelessness :(‘ she tweeted. ‘Does looking down upon the homeless help people excuse their inaction?’
She continued, ‘I hope that this can be the start of a national conversation about youth homelessness and how to end it. People who are homeless have lived very hard lives. Jesse included.’
Later she added:
While they obsesses over one homeless mans legal issue lets help the other 1.6 million homeless youth http://t.co/VE6P9yfAVX

Meanwhile, Helt’s mother has said that he will be returning to Oregon – all expenses paid by Cyrus – where he faces inevitable arrest unless he goes into hiding again.
