A Chinese construction worker was left hanging from the 8th floor of a building last week after an angry little boy watching cartoons inside cut his harness ropes for disturbing him with the noise generated by his work.
According to local Chinese reports, the 10-year old boy named Tang Chu was watching cartoons inside the building in Guizhou as the worker noisily performed his duties. Apparently disturbed by the noise, the boy decided to eliminate its source.
Liu Mai said that he was drilling holes on the building to fix security lights … and as he was on the 8th floor, the boy came out and started cutting the ropes of harness with a knife.
Mai said the boy refused to stop even after he shouted at him to … and eventually, the ropes snapped, leaving him hanging dangerously on one rope.
After screaming for help, fire services came to his rescue … and it took personnel up to 40 minutes to finally get him to safety.
The boy’s father, Tang Peng, has said the boy has apologized after he was told about the implications of his actions. According to him, the child has promised never to do anything like that again.
Peng is also planning to take his son to anger management classes because of the incident. His family has also bought Mai a new rope.
