Rihanna on Tuesday blasted CBS for removing her musical intro to last Thursday’s NFL game featuring the Baltimore Ravens … and now the network has reacted by cutting her off for good.
Rihanna’s song was supposed to feature in last week’s game, but CBS pulled it because of the scandal that rocked the team’s now-suspended star player Ray Rice … and because she was once a domestic violence victim. The network announced that it will feature her in this week’s game, but apparently the singer was not happy about it.
‘CBS you pulled my song last week, now you wanna slide it back in this Thursday? NO, F*ck you! Y’all are sad for penalizing me for this,’ she tweeted on Tuesday, adding, ‘The audacity.’
In response, CBS issued a statement announcing that they are cutting her off permanently from Thursday Night Football.
‘Beginning this Thursday, we will be moving in a different direction with some elements of our ‘Thursday Night Football’ open. We will be using our newly created Thursday Night Football theme music to open our game broadcast,’ the statement said.
