The E! Network has announced that Fashion Police will not die with Joan Rivers.
In a statement released on Friday, the network said the fashion show will not be scrapped in the wake of Rivers’ death because it was not what she would have wanted.
The statement reads:
We are deeply saddened by the loss of Joan Rivers and, for the last two weeks, have turned our attention to honoring her memory on all of our platforms. We have also thought long and hard about what Joan would have wanted as it pertains to the future of ‘Fashion Police.’
We decided, with Melissa Rivers’ blessing, that Joan would have wanted the franchise to continue. ‘Fashion Police’ will return in 2015 commencing with Golden Globes coverage on Monday, January 12. No further details will be announced at this time.
Shortly after the news of Joan’s death took over Twitter earlier this month, Fashion Police also trended worldwide on the social site, with many people speculating about the show’s fate and saying that it ‘will never be the same’ again.
There will be a 3-hour long special Fashion Police broadcast in honor of Rivers this Friday night.
