Kenan Thompson is leaving Saturday Night Live at the end of the upcoming season, it has been reported.
According to TMZ, Thompson had wanted to leave the show last season, but was persuaded to stay by SNL boss Lorne Michaels for another year due to the casting changes that was going on in the set. The decision to leave was on good terms.
Kenan Thompson – who starred in Nickelodeon’s All That as a teenager – has been with SNL since 2003, making him the longest-serving cast member of the show’s 40-year old history.
He is also reportedly in talks for a new show, and will move to Los Angeles with his wife and new baby after the season ends.
