The man who jumped the fence and ran into the White House last week Friday was armed with several lethal weapons.
According to the federal prosecutor, 42-year old veteran Omar Jose Gonzalez was armed with two hatchets, a machete and 800 rounds of ammunition in his car.
And that’s not all.
The prosecutor also told the court that Gonzalez was arrested in July with an assault rifle and a map with a mark on the White House location. Then in August, he was stopped by security as he walked past the White House carrying a hatchet.
Gonzalez appeared in court on Monday charged with one count of unlawfully entering a restricted building or grounds while carrying a deadly or dangerous weapon. The prosecutor told the judge that he believes Gonzalez is ‘a threat to the president.’Agreeing, the judge ordered him to be detained.
