Hope Solo has broken her silence after naked photos of her got leaked over the weekend.
In a statement released on Monday, the soccer star said, ‘It is extremely sad and unfortunate that the rights of so many women were violated by the unauthorized release of private photographs. This act goes beyond the bounds of human decency and, as such, I stand united with all the women affected and am exploring every option to protect my privacy.’
Then, in reference to the ongoing domestic violence case against her, the Team USA goalkeeper maintained her innocence, saying, ‘While I understand the public desires more information regarding the allegations against me, I continue to maintain my innocence against these charges. And once all the facts come to light and the legal process in concluded, I am confident that I will be fully exonerated.’
Solo apparently returned to addressing the domestic violence incident (she was arrested in June for allegedly beating her sister and nephew) because it re-emerged on discussion boards during the Ray Rice knockout video scandal, as people wondered why she was not punished by Team USA in the same way NFL usually punishes their players for similar offenses.
